Projet : The Rubin Museum of Art has its new home at the former Barney’s store location on West 17th Street. Consisting of five floors of exhibition space, the museum features NEWMAT in three galleries using double-layered NEW/LIGHT systems with translucent/T0B2 membranes.

In addition, the exhibition architect chose the same NEW/LIGHT system for the mandala shape around the elliptical staircase spiraling through the building. Suzan Tillotson successfully coordinated the use of the NEWMAT membranes and the backlighting fixtures in order to create a perfect balance of light transparency.

This project also included NEW/ACOUSTIC systems of luminous vaulted ceilings using micro-perforated translucent/T0B membranes in the café/multi-purpose room.
