Phillip Lim’s latest flagship is a 5,000 square foot fashion showroom & boutique on one of West Hollywood’s main shopping streets. A converted furniture showroom, the sales floor features a continuous curved wall with a skin of uniform acoustic foam spikes and a mix of daylight and artificial light throughout the space. In order to simulate daylight, PARA-Project chose a double-layer of NEW/LIGHT white translucent membrane stretched across the entire ceiling, secured by a custom aluminum rail and backlit by fluorescents. Pairs of MR16 lamps are also installed in the perimeter profiles. The double-layer NEW/LIGHT membrane insures that no dirt or debris is visible in the monolithic ceiling, which glows like an artificial sky throughout the entire store.
